We normally hold dharma services at 9:30am on Sunday morning. Exceptions are noted on home page ("This Week"). Dharma Service lasts approximately one hour, and then young people go to Dharma School and adults stay for Adult Study.
Our Dharma School welcomes K-12, both visiting and temple families. Students leave the Dharma Service at 10:30 to join classes in the temple's lower level to discuss the teachings, learn the rituals, and engage in craft projects.
Meditation Services are held the first and third evenings of each month at 7:00pm. Optional yoga stretching is usually offered at 6:30pm. These are open to the public as well as temple members. Instruction in meditating is offered.
Group meets once a month prior to Dharma Service in the temple library. Help in healing unhealthy attachments such as alcohol, drugs, pills, food, video games, gambling, sex, internet, shopping, risky behavior, etc. We read and discuss books suggested by Reverend Harada, our supervising minister.
September 22 @ 1:30pm
October 6 @ 11:30am
October 20 @ 11:30am
Approximately every other month, we offer a 2-3 hour class in a topic related to Buddhism. These classes are offered by our temple ministers and assistants from Orange County Buddhist Church or from visiting scholars. Registration is encouraged and a small fee is charged to cover our costs. See "What's Happening" for current offerings.
We celebrate the Birth of the Buddha in April with Hanamatsuri (Flower Festival) and we celebrate O-Bon (expressing our
our gratitude to loved ones who have passed on before us) the last weekend of July.
